Delight's Hot Springs (1+ hour from Vegas) 강추
한글타입이 좀힘들어 영어로.. 쥐송함다.
This is my 3rd year in Las Vegas, and I wanted to share some good info for a GO-TO place near Las Vegas. It is Delight's Hot Springs in Tecopa, which is about 1:20 mins drive from my home. Recently, one of my friends informed me about Delight's Hot Springs since I love Hot Springs, and still go to Desert Hot Springs time to time with 4 hours of driving). Since I now know this new place very near Las Vegas, I decided to check out this place and visited last week.
Despite of all bad reviews in Yelp with rude hosts, old and broken facilities I read, I was very pleasantly surprised when I arrived. Apparently, the owner (named Spencer) took over the management after firing all rude employees recently. He was very welcoming us, and nicely explained all facilities on site. He also mentioned that he is in the process of cleaning up the entire place and also upgrade them. Actually, I did not think it was too bad as is since some of the cleanups were done already. IMO, it was way better than any Korean-owned Hot Springs in Desert Hot Springs such as Sahara (closed now) or Sandpiper where many Koreans visit since they allow cooking.
Here are Pros and Cons of this place. In fact, since I liked and enjoyed last time, I am taking a couple of friends with us during this memorial day weekend to spend a night and bathe in the hot springs :-) I hope you can also visit this place and enjoy a day or two with your friends and family. This is perfect place for Koreans who like outdoor cooking..
PROS:
1. Very close from Vegas (around 1-1:30 hours driving)
2. An outdoor Swimming pool with 4 small spas with natural hot springs water
3. 4-5 Private Hot Spas with doors (only 30 mins allowed at a time)
4. Perfect water temperature - a little warmer than spas in Desert Hot Springs
5. Cooking/BBQing allowed, and also have a large covered area for dining
6. Cabin/Bungalow/Trailer available for overnight stay
7. Very kind and nice hosts (Spencer and his father)
8. RV park available and Car camping is allowed ($40/person including Spa access all day and next day)
9. Star Gazing at night
CONS:
1. Nothing much around near the place for eating or drinking (cooking and BYOB needed)
2. Annoying large flies around pool and spa (bring a fly swap :-), but bearable and never got bitten
3. Cabin/Bungalow/Trailers in the middle of renovation (should make reservation in advance if planning to stay a night)
4. Cabin/Bungalow/Trailers are somewhat pricey ($100 - $150 including Spa access all day)
5. No traffic on the way from/to Vegas - it could be a good thing for some, but for elder drivers, it could be scary driving in dark)
THAT'S IT! So I hope many others would enjoy this place as I did and will!!
Ciao!
